I'm going home for chinese new year.Yippee! But only for several days.Anyway,I am thankful for that.At least,I can enjoy my bed and be with my parents.Everything is the same in the pediatrics ward.No outbreaks or anything.Just the same cases for over and over again.Mostly diarrhea, vomitting, some upper or lower respiratory tract cases and febrile fits. These are the usuals.Occasionally there's AGN or Nephrotic Syndrome. We had our midtest last Monday. It was really interesting because the essay questions asked us about diagnosing and the managements. At least that kind of tests is useful rather than asking us the theories like when we were in the pre-clinical years.
I asked one of the housements today.Do we have a cycle or rotation when we are housements?A specific cycle for the new doctors to rotate between departments. It seems that last time, the departments where the housements are placed depends on the hospital itself.Different hospital has different policies. Some hospital only require the housements to work at 3 departments;Obstetrics N Gynae, surgery and medical. And only Hospital Kangar requires the housement to be placed in 7 departments. As for medical base, they have to choose 2,most probably Medicine and Pediatrics.Surgery base another 2;surgery and orthopedics.Obstetrics and Gynae is a must. Some klinik kesihatan posting and the emergency department. But now,it seems that the rotation that is used in Hospital Kangar is applied to the recent rules for the new housementship which lasts for 2 years!Which also means,I'm in for it too.
Well let's look on the bright side.At least we can gain more experience in knowledge.Put aside the forthcoming stress when we are working as a housement.Which job doesn't have stress?
